Advantages
Our night vision products, when equipped with Gen3+ image intensifier tubes, can fully match the performance of the night vision devices currently in service with the US special forces. The main advantages of our products are highlighted in the following four aspects:
1)Advantages of optical performance
The optical lenses is are autonomously designed and manufactured by ARGUS to match the parameters of the classic L3 Harris AN/PVS-31. Its optics are all made of high-precision aspherical lenses with a series of merits including high resolution, low distortion, large exit pupil, and acute sense of depth. Each objective lens or eyepiece weigh only 25g, which makes it one of the lightest milspec night vision lens modules worldwide.
The optical lens uses advanced ion coating technology, which is applied in many high-end NATO legacy systems. This technology provides the ARGUS lenses with wide anti-reflection band, high transmittance, and low halo.
The optical system is designed to provide a classic 40°field of view, which has been tested to be the most suitable FOV for night operations. The large exit pupil design allows the operator to comfortably use the device when wearing gas masks, flight helmets, full-face helmets, bio-suits, goggles, etc.
2)Advantages of overall structure
ARGUS products meet high air-tight and water-tight standards and can be filled with pressurized nitrogen, so that it can meet the requirements of combat diving.
The interface is easy to operate, with only one button to control all functions. Press once to power on and off, rotate to control brightness gain, press multiple times to customize settings. Built-in indicators are used show the devices’ working status.
IR illuminators are installed on some of the ARGUS products. This design provides auxiliary illumination in total darkness and hence expand the user’s tactical options.
3)Advantages of electronic controls
All ARGUS night vision housings are equipped with a built-in gravity sensor, which enables automatic flip-up power-off and flip-down power-on without the need of magnetic mounts or other special accessories. This design avoids accidental tube damage when the device is faced towards light sources above. It also saves battery life and prevents eyepiece light exposure when the device is flipped up. This function can be canceled to ensure user’s safety when special body postures are needed.
All ARGUS night vision housings have military-level electronics on board. It accepts AA dry battery to meet the standards of all-weather military operations. Compared with lithium batteries such as CR123A, AA batteries enjoys the advantages of easy access, power preservation and safety in high and low temperatures, and strong environmental adaptability. When needed, the BNVD-31 can automatically adjust voltage and work with lithium batteries to extend power capacity.
All ARGUS night vision binoculars are equipped with a manual gain control module, allowing the user to adjust the gain and output brightness of the image intensifier tubes according to their own needs. The default gain on startup can also be predefined, exempting the user from frequent gain adjustment.
4)Advantages of external accessories
The dovetails on ARGUS products are designed with special care on precision. They are compatible with all kinds of Wilcox-style dovetail in the world.
All ARGUS night vision housings can be added with clip on thermal imager (COTI) such as IRAY JERRY-C. IRAY and ARGUS jointly developed the light-weight COTI adapter for BNVD-31 to further enhance its multi-spectrum observation ability, allowing user to detect and highlight targets with heat signatures.
All ARGUS night vision housings can be connected to Universal Strobe Battery Packs (USBP) for extended operation time. The USBP is integrated with two high-brightness IR strobes for IFF (identification of friend and foe) and air-ground cooperation purposes.
